Rehearsal for To the Moon and Back

We are witness to two moon wonders in August, the Supermoon and Blue Supermoon, and to celebrate the awe and beauty of the moon, artists Gail Anglin, Tom Lips, Jack Pyl, and Susan Sweeney Hermon will share stories and songs about the luminous glow in the night sky.

As part of the Lansdowne Summer Arts Showcase, Ottawa StoryTellers presents To the Moon and Back, an evening of stories and songs that will pay tribute to the power of the moon.

About the Artists

Gail Anglin is a storyteller and musician whose roots were anchored in the Appalachian soil of the Shawangunk Mountains where she grew up. Over the course of her association with Ottawa StoryTellers she has performed in dozens of shows, served on the Board, organized festivals, and generally done what she could to let other Ottawans in on how great storytelling is!

Tom Lips is an active member of Ottawa StoryTellers for three decades, Tom shares traditional folk tales and legends, literary stories, poetry, and his own original stories. Tom is also an accomplished singer-songwriter whose recordings of original, eclectic songs have made many friends.

Jack Pyl is a longtime Ottawa resident who has been active in live and recorded music, theatre and art for many years. He feels a bit weird talking about himself in the third person.

Susan Sweeney Hermon is part of ACACIA LYRA, a Celtic harp duo that sings in many languages, accompanying themselves on Celtic harps and guitars. The duo has launched three recordings at the NAC Fourth Stage and has just completed recording a fourth album. Susan is a keen enthusiast of the art of storytelling and has had the pleasure of collaborating with Ottawa StoryTellers over the years.
