Mystery, romance, and satisfying surprise endings are at the heart of these classic, gentle whodunits. Storytellers Gail Anglin, Alaukwu Anozie, and Paul Williamson will tell playful and sinister mysteries by English novelist Margery Allingham.

Will Hank Dunn, a detective as tough as the thugs he arrested in 1920s Hog Town, catch the cunning thief Slacks Washington? Will the lovely Judith be able to prove that her fiancé didn’t kill her aunt Dorinda? What had happened to the McGills, a charming young couple who disappeared one morning without a trace, leaving their half-eaten breakfasts on the table? Mysterious music will add to the atmosphere of the evening’s slightly noir fun!

About the Storytellers:

Gail Anglin is a storyteller who likes to mix a bit of music in with her storytelling. Over the course of her association with Ottawa StoryTellers, she has performed in dozens of shows, served on the Board, organized festivals, directed shows at local museums, and generally done what she could to let other Ottawans in on how great storytelling is!

Alaukwu Anozie first fell in love with stories when he was four years old, hearing folk tales and reading fairytales with his father and Grandfather. Now, as an Anthropology student he gets to merge his love for all things stories with his academic pursuits, investigating how the stories we hear and tell influence us every day. Alaukwu stumbled upon the Ottawa Storytellers last year and was so excited that the group existed he's rumored to have let out a squeal after attending for the first time. Aside from procrastination, his hobbies include reading, writing, cooking, and daydreaming (mostly about an illustrious professional soccer career). He adores stories that encapsulate the ups and downs of life and reminds us that every day is a gift.

Paul Williamson emigrated to Canada from England in 2000. Since around 2014, he has been involved in acting, appearing in a number of productions at Ottawa Little Theatre and elsewhere. This is his first appearance in a storytelling show, a new opportunity that he is very excited about. And not just because he finally gets to use his own accent!
