Are you interested in learning to tell your own personal stories well? Award-winning storyteller Sahand Sahebdivani will lead the workshop "The Foundations of True Storytelling" on Sunday, May 7, at 10:00 am at the Main Branch of the Ottawa Public Library. Cost $25-$30.
Many people tell true stories but miss the know-how to compose an effective personal story with something to say. In this workshop, we work on the foundation of a personal story, a level of understanding that benefits both absolute beginners as well as experienced tellers.
Sahand will lead participants through the steps of how to identify a personal event in our life that can turn into a story, how to structure it, create the shape, and give it meaning. The workshop is a great stand-alone experience and has been taught in Amsterdam for almost a decade, helping to create a lively storytelling scene there.
